Throughout the 80s, several fires started under strange circumstances. These fires are often blamed to the existence of cursed paintings that were mass produced. Much more shocking is the fact that the Crying Boy paintings are left intact while other objects around it are burnt to ashes. Firefighters from Britain noticed that after responding and clearing out fires they found copies of The Crying Boy still intact and left unburnt. The strange phenomenon was first covered by Sun UK in 1985. Finally a TV program Punt PI tried to burn the painting to see if the Crying Boy paintings really have strange properties.
