Many people believe that Satanic messages are rigged in rock music tracks. Many people have claimed that such messages can influence us subconsciously and can be heard clearly when the track is played backwards.

But researchers say that what you get when you play a song backwards is mostly garbled music-- with muddled sounds enough to allow people who hear it construct messages for themselves. The most famous example of backmasking would be Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. The song is often hailed as the greatest rock song ever recorded since it's release in 1971. It was only in 1982 when Televangelists discovered that the track have alleged Satanic message.

But it is also interesting to consider that some bands intentionally backmask tracks with audible and coherent lyrics as a result. Take Don't Stop by The Stone Roses as an example, the track itself is their song Waterfall in reverse. Iron Maiden, another British band intentionally used backmasking in their track named Still Life of their studio album Piece of Mind. Do these tracks really influence the listener to do unholy things? It will be left for the reader to decide the true nature of backmasking
